Low EP and Tour

In conjunction with a short tour, Low is scheduled to release a holiday 7-inch EP on November 4, featuring a version of “Santa’s Coming Over” and a cover of the reggae song “The Coming of Jah.”

The tour will take place at a handful of small-sized venues in the U.S and Europe. A number of these shows are being listed as “An Evening With Low,” which means a longer, more in-depth set due to having no opening acts. And then there are the presumably self-explanatory mid-November “Holiday Concerts.” (Do Christmas cover songs and holiday-themed shows mark the beginning of the end for Low?)

In addition to this upcoming activity, the band’s singer and guitarist Alan Sparhawk’s band, Retribution Gospel Choir, are playing a fair amount of shows in the U.K. Read more to see the dates…

AC/DC Back with Black Ice

In 1973, seven years before the release of dive-bar staple “You Shook Me All Night Long,” two Australian brothers formed the hard rock band AC/DC. Songs such as “Back in Black,” “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)” and “Highway to Hell” are timeless classics. Yet there’s something to admire about a band that admits to and takes pride in having recorded album after album sounding exactly the same.

In support of Black Ice, due out October 16 (no news of pre-sale leaks so far), timeless AC/DC will tour North America one more time…(read more to see the dates)

David Vandervelde Touring the U.S.

A Place To Bury Strangers – the April 2007 Jezebel Music NYC Monthly Feature Artist – have made quite the name for themselves. To keep the vibe alive, APTBS will embark on a gigantic slew of tour dates early this month all the way through December, taking them across the U.S. and Europe. Read more to see the dates…
