Lil Wayne: Let Him Rock?
TOP DOG
In his ongoing mission to confuse the hell out of everyone, Lil Wayne has decided to follow his arrival to the top of hip hop with leaving the genre, picking up his guitar, and setting his sights on rock stardom. Rappers flirting with rock is nothing new, but Wayne’s plans are more than just a rap/rock collaboration for a single or two. On April 7th he’s going the full nine yards and releasing an entire album, titled Rebirth, of Weezy performed and penned rock songs with a score of head scratching and line drawing sure to follow. It’s pretty fearless on Wayne’s part, but then again, an album that sold as much as Tha Carter III would give most people some extra cohones. The question is whether said cohones are being put to any good use (try not to think about that too much).
