Gunfight!“Post-country” is a cheeky, somewhat arrogant term for any Yankee band to apply to themselves. Especially since way too many bands assume that by appropriating the tropes of country music that they’ll have built-in credibility or authenticity, because most indie rock fans know dick about country music. This is why a lot of alt-country bands are lame. GunFight! overcomes this by not taking themselves too seriously and not giving a damn what you think. Their live shows are full of unrelenting energy, vocalist Drew Mintz sounds like a higher-pitched Captain Beefheart, and guitarist Bill Dvorak actually takes decent guitar solos (gasp!), so there’s really no reason not to grab a stool, drink your PBR and bang your head right along.” -The Deli Magazine

Phil and the Osophers“At one point Phil and the Osophers was actually just one man, but over the years he has since added a second member and they are now a two-piece out of Brooklyn…and after hearing [their] brand new tracks we are absolutely positive that people will be falling in love with them when they take the stage. It may have taken a while to get the word out about this Brooklyn two-piece, but now that it’s out expect some really great things from these boys in the near future!!!” -Pop Tarts Suck Toasted

Kittens Ablaze“It is a manic clusterf*ck of dance-punk-folk that sounds like what might happen if Defiance, Ohio moved to New York City and started gettin’ busy in the club scene…a highly enjoyable and welcome addition to my collection (or yours).” -Can You See the Sunset From the Southside?

Miracles of Modern Science“Like the sound of a renegade orchestra at an out of control school dance. A ballroom dance on the moon with amplifiers. A Victorian disco. Miracles Of Modern Science sound like a gorgeous arrangement of classical instrumentation transplanted into modern space tinged pop songs.” -The Tape

“Despite their almost extraterrestial appearance, they have a very earthly sense of what makes excellent music - big choruses, catchy hooks and songs that make your heart swell. … [T]hey utilise these “old” instruments to make songs that sound very new and fresh, epic yet fun, intensely musical but very accessible; it’s just great pop.” -The Mark Out

“[T]here is … an undeniable appeal to the sound - created through the teamwork of violin, cello, mandolin, stand up bass & drums - and a cheeky sense of fun that includes, certainly, but also extends to more than just the wacky futuristic space suits.” -Anyone’s Guess
